In 1995, Danny Cantrell become the CEO and Founder of Marketing Response Solutions. It all started with a friendly handshake (and a $300 check to Southwestern Bell Telephone). It may have been the first T-1 line that the installer had ever installed in an apartment and the Dell Server that was shoved into the bedroom closet may have kept the door from closing, but it didn’t matter. Marketing Response Solutions was up and running and the PBX software had begun to take inbound automated calls.

With a successful IVR link, Danny Cantrell created the first “Automated Loan by Phone” service and quickly gained traction with clients like Citibank, Brink’s Home Security, various subprime auto dealers, and any business that needed after-hours lead capture. Danny and his sales staff (friends, college buddies, even his Dad, “The Legend”) were careful to do all of their business over the phone so that it wouldn’t be obvious that all of those local and national media campaigns were being captured in the closet of Danny’s second-floor apartment.

In 2007, in the middle of the Mortgage Crisis, Danny’s brother, Mike Cantrell encountered the SMS/Texting technology that would change everything for the brothers. In 2008, Mike left his 18-year career at Bally Total Fitness to become the president of a newly launched company named Solutions by Text. Leveraging their existing customer-base, they introduced a new, compliance-focused, strategy-driven, cloud-based software platform for directly connecting companies with customers via text message. With more than 400 lenders and utility providers (both publicly and privately held) in over 30 countries, and with more than 30 core partners utilizing their robust, partner-focused API, it’s safe to say that Solutions by Text has become a powerhouse, global brand.

In 2011, the brothers launched Ministry by Text with Aaron McClung and AM Digital which leverages the power of text for ministries around the world.

In 2012, at the age of 47, Danny finally joined the “daddy club” with the birth of his daughter.

Danny’s favorite piece of sports memorabilia is personally signed by Tom Landry of the Dallas Cowboys and reads, “Danny, tough times never last but tough people do. Best wishes. – Tom Landry”
